2009 is going to be an excellent year with lots of very exciting weddings and some really cool Workshops.

New Workshop's coming!

After all the requests I have decided to start more workshop's in the near future.
The last one in April was very popular and a great success, the comments were "I wish you have done this earlier", "I have learnt more in the 2 days, than 2 years in school!", "When is the next workshop?"
The first workshop is in the Bahamas in Turks & Caicos, this one is being organized by Beaches/Sandals Resort and it is geared towards their Resort photographers.
The second in Calgary during end of November or early December, dates will be advised (please email me if you are interested)
In 2009 first week of April the workshop will be in Hungary/Budapest 2 days a Sunday-Monday, since it already looks like the class is full, I will do another one a week later, class size is limited to 20 people.
So...if you are interested in any workshop, please email me!

So...did my first TRASH the DRESS (TTD) shoot, we could have gone a little bit more Hardcore on the dress....
...but it was a miserable day, rain and cold and more rain and hail.
I was hoping Kristie who is a trooper would not get pneumonia!

A Real Live Proposal...

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Sterling Hunter, he wrote!
"My name is Sterling Hunter, and I am wondering if I can hire you to take pictures of me and soon to be fiance!?
She showed me your website and loves your style and pictures.
What I want to do is a sort of Paparazzi type shoot where unknown to her (Stefany) a photographer follows us around downtown Calgary snapping away. At the pre-discussed spot I'll get down on one knee and propose and we would have impeccable
pictures of that unforgettable moment!"
DUDE...could I say NO?
This is the most original idea I have ever heard and taken pictures of!
I was so excited and nervous, like I was proposing!!!
So here are the a few pictures from the moment.

Hey guys, Vannessa, Patricia, Allyson, Kristi, Eric, Shauna, Jeff, Victor and Jeff C!
I had a blast on Friday and Saturday with all of you at the Seminar.
If it had made a difference in your approach to photography and the passion involved in this,
than I have done my part.
I thought the 2 days was going to be long for me and I will run out of thoughts and words to say.
I must admit I could still talk about the beauty the approach the passion in wedding photography even now!.
The Seminar I feel was a great success the feed back that I received from all of you makes me do more
of these workshops.
Thank you Lennora for all the great insight in the business part of weddings.
Sheldon and Ken you guys were just amazing behind the Video gear, cant wait to see the video!

Fight Night in Calgary!

Yes! I guess its one of those times where the price changes for the photographers.
In order for me to stay competitive with my prices, there will be an increase for 2008 and on.
So if you are still thinking of booking for this year or next year, don't wait to long, I will change the pricing in a month!

Enjoying the Sun with Casey and Wendy in the Bahamas!

So...my first wedding of the year is in Turks & Caicos in the Bahamas.
I will be leaving on the 12th and will return on the 19th of Jan, just in time for the Bridal Fair.
Looking forward to this trip and spending some very fine time with Casey and Wendy with some amazing photography on their wedding day.

Well another year is over and here is 2008 that looks very busy already for weddings!
07 was a great year and I would like to thank everyone who choose me to capture those special moments on their wedding day.

2008 Lecture Series

...So, finally after a long time and some requests from other photographers, I have decided to launch a seminar series in April 2008!
All about the style that I showcase and that I love, based on some portrait and wedding photography.
Anyone that will attend will walk away much more confident and with an open eye to every little detail a portrait or wedding
can bring you as a photographer.
Mainly recommended for starting photographers but anyone can benefit from the lectures.
It so different what you have ever learned, it will possibly even change the way you look at Life itself!

Todd & Corrie at Hotel Artz.

So its been sometime since I have updated my blog with some featured weddings.
It was really time, One of my all time favourite places to do weddings is Hotel Artz!
I always feel like I am at South Beach in Miami, well not in winter when its -34c here in Calgary!
The weather was just perfect, beeing that Calgary is just under so much construction downtown,
it is a safe heaven for photos.

Images of your soon-to-be-husband standing at the altar, the smiles, the kisses, the flowers, the dress…all may be faded memories clouded by the bustling thoughts of days gone by. As newly engaged bride, one of my main concerns for the wedding was to find the right individual with that unique eye that would be able to capture those special unspoken moments.

With too many current commitments and responsibilities, my fiancé, Martin, and I didn’t want to rush into a whirlwind wedding planned too quickly. We wanted to enjoy the engagement, the planning, and have the option of selection. With two A-type personalities planning the wedding, we wanted everything to be selected carefully and thoughtfully, and so, as outrageous as it may seem, we have set our wedding for August of 2010.

Browsing amidst the online bridal pages, advertising dresses, caterers, and photographers, I came upon Andras’ website. Curious, I began to browse through his work. Photo after photo there was an unexplainable essence about his images. His photos seemed to capture the single moment in time, when time stops and memories are made. I immediately sent the link to Martin to view. Impressed with Andras’ work, Martin immediately called me back and told me that we needed to book Andras for our wedding. Later that week, we serendipitously met Andras at one of the local Bridal shows. We spoke briefly, but he probably didn’t think much of the interest since the wedding was three years away…

Serious about having the right photographer, we called Andras a few months later, and to his surprise, we wanted to meet for a personal consultation. Meeting Andras for the second time confirmed that he was the perfect photographer for us. His enthusiasm and passion for photography was very evident when he spoke to us about his work. The time he takes to get to know each couple showed us that he takes pride in his craft, which is a quality that is unmistakably reflected in his photographs.

Martin and I unanimously agree that there is only so much you can do to plan for your wedding day. You cannot plan for good weather, and you cannot let bad weather ruin such an important day. The only reason I can take comfort this fact, is that Andras assured us that if we were up for it, no matter the weather, wind, rain, snow or shine, he will be out there taking photographs for us. No matter what the weather, he is confident that he can find the beauty of the moment. With that being said, what more could a bride and groom ask for?

As such, I am honored to announce that we have just signed our contract on Sunday, and we will be having Andras Schram as our official photographer for our August 2010 wedding!

Mike & Amy..engagement.

I always say that the pre photo shoot or the
engagement photography is so so important!
Going out even for an hour with the couple
teaches me so much about them, their reactions,
feelings...communication.
When the wedding day is here I just look at them
and we are back exactly where we have finished.
We are friends, we know each oher...and they
give me their best for the big day.

All I can say, we couldn't have asked for a better day!
After all that cold and snow...today was beautiful in
Brag Creek!
The photo shoot started with Jackie asking me to shoot

New 07 Wedding Magazine in Europe is out!

the Hungarian version of the German Hochzeit magazine.

Charlotte & Adrian from Ireland & England

Charlotte & Adrian got married in Banff.
I think its really cool when a couple from so far away comes this far to get married
in such a beautiful location.
Charlotte did an amazing job putting and organizing the wedding.
They had the tuxes made in India the flowers ordered from Colombia organized
everything from Ireland....unbelievable!
Sorry I could not get Alec Baldwin to say a couple of words at your reception!
( Charlotte your brother will know what I am talking about ) :)

"The Secret"

We all know it, we all have it...most of us will never master it but a select few will!
I did not realise that I had it in me until I attracted the right people in my life that showed me the way.
These were conscious decisions that I have made but did not realised it.
It has made me sucessful in Photography in a very short time, without any prior education in this field.
All it took was, Passion, Love, Gratitude and wanting to become the best......so it happened and grows
every day.
After seeing the movie "The Secret" I have had a chance to meet with Dr. John F. Demartini who is
feautered in the movie with other brilliant minds.
He is so captivating, inspirational he is so Humble, sincere and Pasionate, it gave me shivers!
I had to shake his hand before he left amongst the crowd...I did.
What is the secret?

importantly believe in yourself!
